Since the beginning of winter, Poyang Lake has been in the dry season. It is said that due to the influence of water from the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River, the amount of water leaving Poyang Lake is significantly greater than the amount of water entering the lake , therefore the water area of Poyang Lake has been reduced to a large extent . As the water level drops, most parts of the lake area riverbeds gradually reveal the lake bottom landform with criss-crossing ravines, presenting a natural geographical feature.
Out of curiosity, we suddenly wanted to see what the bottom of Poyang Lake looked like, so we took a boat across a not-so-wide river (because the lake shrank to form many small watersheds, let’s call it a river for the time being) and started our exploration. trip. Walking on her cracked river bed, there were dried aquatic plants everywhere and the carcasses of dead animals in the soil. The boundless vastness I could see at a glance gave me the illusion that I was walking on the land of the Great Northwest. Occasionally, off-road vehicles passed by us, and I sighed inwardly. Poyang Lake is indeed the largest freshwater lake in my country. It feels like I can’t get out without transportation. Sure enough, after walking for more than an hour, I was lost and couldn't tell the direction or location! Fortunately, there was a lake-viewing pavilion looming in the distance, which gave us a reference target and finally got out of this desolate place.
This time, my original intention was to look for reed marshes, but I ended up straying into a wilderness. It was an unexpected gain! I hope that Poyang Lake can return to its original appearance when there is abundant rain in spring.
