a better life is simple

"A good life is actually very simple"

Zhaoxing Dong Village in southeastern Guizhou Province is one of the largest and oldest Dong villages in the country. The architectural layout here is ingenious, with flower bridges, drum towers and stilted buildings complementing each other. The Dong Village is surrounded by mountains. Rows of houses are built in the basin in the mountains. Two streams pass through the village, and the entire Dong Village is surrounded by mountains. The ancient meaning is full of bright colors, giving people unlimited reverie.

The entrance to the village in the early morning looks like an oil painting, with the slightly bright sky glowing with morning glow. The village is located deep in the green rice fields, with scattered heights. People outside the oil painting couldn't hold back their excitement and wanted to step into the painting to find out.

Zhaoxing Dong Village has five regiments of "benevolence, justice, etiquette, wisdom and trust", each regiment is equivalent to a "community". There are five drum towers, five flower bridges and five stages in the village. The appearance of the Drum Tower varies in height, size and style, making it a magnificent sight.

The Dong Village at night is not quiet, but very lively. The old people were collecting shoe soles and chatting beside the Drum Tower, and the girls and boys were singing and dancing, making it a lively scene.

Terraces

The vast plains of Chengdu stretch as far as the eye can see. The terraced fields in Tang'an, Guizhou are like a chain, winding up from the foot of the mountain. They are stacked on top of each other at different heights. Their lines are like flowing clouds and flowing water, smooth and smooth, which is amazing.

The terraced fields in the morning are like a girl wrapped in a tulle, fairy-like and looming. The terraces in the distance are hidden by the mist, and I always want to take a peek at the beautiful scenery behind the veil.

At noon, with the scorching sun in the sky, the terraces were also painted yellow by the sunshine, and the mist faded away, making it bright enough for us to see. Not only did I sigh that the terraced fields in Tang'an are really beautiful, but I felt relaxed and happy walking in this pastoral scenery.

In the evening, the terraced fields regained their green color, and they looked so majestic under the setting sun. Fortunately, the great invention of mankind, the camera, allows us to freeze the beautiful scenery at this moment. Even after we have returned home, we can still have endless aftertaste.

Daoxiang

With the fragrance of rice, the river continues to run

Smile slightly, I know my childhood dreams

Don't cry, let the fireflies take you away

Country songs, eternal support

The scene from Jay Chou's "Daoxiang" immediately appeared in front of our eyes, traveling through the time machine and taking us back to the scene of our childhood. However, Jay Chou never thought that Daoxiang in Guizhou is even more naughty, and the people here have to go to the fields to catch fish. After rolling up their trouser legs and going barefoot to the fields, a group of adults and children happily started catching fish. Have the children in Shanghai seen such a scene before? They were so happy that they couldn't close their mouths.

Uncle 185 has become the king of our children. He is known to be very good at catching fish, and he can catch it accurately every time. The children murmured and asked him to teach him how to catch fish.

Mountains and flowing water

Coming to Guizhou without experiencing the hospitable mountains and flowing waters of the Dong people is like coming to Chengdu without experiencing our teahouse culture. The Dong people have rich ethnic customs and the people are warm and hospitable. Rice wine is an important part of the daily life of the local ethnic minorities, forming a unique and rich ethnic minority wine culture. Since ancient times, there has been a rule that "there is no ceremony without wine, and there is no feast without wine".

The Dong people never stop singing while drinking. Wine is the spice of song. When toasting, the wine bowls are stacked on top of each other, from top to bottom. The wine flows down from the height into the bowl, and then stays in the guests' mouths, while the singing and drinking continue.

Longli Painted Face Dragon

Longli Ming Dynasty Painted-faced Dragon has a history of more than 1,000 years since the Northern Song Dynasty. It is a performance form that combines dragon dance and opera, with rich connotations. Every year on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, Longli people would paint colorful faces and dance with colorful dragons. This time, although we did not catch up with the Chinese New Year to see the painted-faced dragon, we did experience the master painting painted faces for us. The form isn't limited to dragons either. Among our group, there are dragons, phoenixes, butterflies, Spider-Man, and facial makeup. As long as there are pictures to refer to, the master can paint on our faces, how awesome is that!

Dong song

The singing Dong people wear simple and full clothes, narrow their eyes slightly and move their lips, singing beautifully for the people who come here. Although the Dong language sounds unfamiliar, the music is interoperable. The melodious singing allowed us to see that girls from ethnic minorities all have voices like larks.

Dong clothing

Most Dong people wear self-spun, self-woven and self-dyed Dong cloth, which likes green, purple, white and blue. Pay attention to color coordination, usually one color is the main color, analog color is the secondary color, and contrasting colors are used for decoration. Clear priorities, bright and quiet tones, soft and elegant.

Wearing Dong clothes, facing the terraced fields, the mother and daughter whispering together sketched out a beautiful sunset negotiation picture.

Two mixed-race children, wearing these ethnic-style Dong clothes, faced the camera, their eyes full of model-like style - the look of an international celebrity.

The Dong Village has left us with endless memories. We miss the fish in sour soup there, the frogs croaking and the cicadas chirping, the reed pipe performances there, and the enthusiastic friends there.

Traveling is to go from a place where you are tired of being treated to a place where others are tired of being treated. Go from one end of the map to the other and experience the customs and customs there. Travel never stops, it’s always on the road.
