▲Don’t be afraid of missing something, the good mood on the road is your gain

Let's get straight to the point, the main purpose of this guide is -

Give! you! Province! Money!

Of course you can save time, but when traveling to Jiangnan, I want you to slow down.

This trip to Jiangnan lasted 10 days, and we visited 5 cities along the way, arriving in Nanjing→SuzhouShanghaiJiaxingHangzhou, the total consumption is about 3,000 yuan.

The total cost of round-trip air tickets + transportation between cities during the period is about 1,700 yuan (if you choose the best-priced transportation method for both round-trips, you can save about 700 to 800 yuan). Tickets for scenic spots during the period cost 260 yuan, and some other experiences are included. Just for reference for those of you who haven’t arrived yet.

The only expenses when going out are food, accommodation and transportation (generally ¥ travel > ¥ accommodation > ¥ food) , then let’s talk about what is a “favorable” trip to Jiangnan according to the travel route and consumption ratio!

First stop: Nanjing

★ in the picture is the accommodation location (the same below)

Average daily consumption reference for food, accommodation and transportation in Nanjing: 100 yuan/day

# Transportation # In a city like Nanjing, there is no need to worry about transportation convenience. Buses and subways are very convenient for going out. The average trip is 2 yuan, which is enough according to 15 yuan/day.

#Accommodation# Consumption on the eastern coast is generally not low. If you stay in a youth hostel, it will cost about 40-50 yuan/day in Nanjing, with less than 20 to 30 yuan (even if it is available, the conditions may be very difficult) difficult to guarantee)

# mealcost# Nanjing is very particular about eating, and there are many kinds of delicious food. Fortunately, I don’t have any special obsession with food. I can just eat whatever I want. The meal cost is 50 yuan/day !

【Nanjing Zhanyuan International Youth Hostel】40 yuan/day

The youth hostel I stayed in in Nanjing was in the Confucius Temple neighborhood, directly opposite Wuyi Lane, with the Qinhuai River behind it. About ten minutes' walk south was Laomendong. The location was very good. The only drawback was that the lighting was very dim. It’s a bit hard to put on makeup and look in the mirror (no problem for men).

There is a subway station near Confucius Temple , and it is very convenient to go to other attractions. Zhongshan Scenic Area requires taking a bus. It can be reached within an hour and requires an advance reservation; you will pass by on the way Nanjing Museum (one of the three major museums in China) , with various museums including history, special exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage, and the Republic of China, will feast your eyes.

Xuanwu Lake is very close to Ancient Jiming Temple. Walking north for about ten minutes from Jiming Temple, you can see the towering Ming City Wall. Go through the city gate and you will be Xuanwu Lake.

Xuanwu Lake is the largest royal garden lake in China. It is also the only remaining royal garden in the south of the Yangtze River and the largest city park in the south of the Yangtze River. It is known as the "Pearl of Jinling" and is naturally worth a visit.

Second stop: Yangzhou

"Fireworks descend on Yangzhou in March." Li Bai wrote this line in the poem "Send Meng Haoran off to Guangling from the Yellow Crane Tower". In fact, it is not expressing the beauty of Yangzhou in March, but this line of poetry became the source of many people's spring tours to Yangzhou later. .

I was not able to go to Yangzhou this time due to a mistake in my itinerary, but I also studied the directions of the scenic spots and made a reference map for everyone. I will leave the charm of Yangzhou to my friends to investigate in person!

Third stop: Suzhou

Average daily consumption of food, accommodation and transportation in Suzhou: 70 yuan/day

Suzhou is an elegant place that gives people a very comfortable overall feeling. The gardens are very formal, the rivers are very clear, and even the city's bus stops are built with a Jiangnan style.

One advantage of going to Suzhou is that several major places are concentrated (except for Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, which is a little far away), including the Humble Administrator's Garden, one of the four major gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, and the lively Pingjiang Road Old Street, Guanqian Street is almost a triangle, so it is best to choose accommodation in the middle of these three places.

[Xunsu Youth Hostel (Suzhou Pingjiang Road Branch)]40 yuan/day

That's right, the small shop opened by Shi Tiandong in the TV series "Pretty Good" is on Pingjiang Road. This youth hostel, named Pingjiang Road Branch, is actually located on Lindun Road (as shown in the distribution map of Suzhou attractions), but this location is better because it is close to the Humble Administrator's Garden, Guanqian Street and Pingjiang Ancient Street. They are almost as far apart as each other, so it won’t be too hard to go to any one of them.

Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Grove are only separated by a road. It is easy to find it by following Linton Road to the north and following the road signs. After turning to Humble Administrator's Garden Lion Grove, follow Pingjiang Old Street all the way south. Okay, you can find your way back if you turn right out of any small alley (if you also choose to live on Linton Road).

The other ones are Zhouzhuang Ancient Town and Tongli Ancient Town . Zhouzhuang is very famous and many people must want to go. However, these two ancient towns are a bit far away from the city. Due to time constraints, I didn’t go there this time. Not arriving, Wuzhen later made up for some regrets.

If you go to Suzhou and want to go to Zhouzhuang, it is recommended to stay in Zhouzhuang for one night. The night scene in this place is generally more charming than during the day.

Fourth stop: Shanghai

Average daily consumption reference for food, accommodation and transportation in Shanghai: 100 yuan/day

We definitely can’t have a lot of fun in Shanghai in single-digit days, so I can’t give you a detailed introduction for the time being, but the basic route can still provide you with some reference.

【Free Travel Youth Hostel (Shanghai Bund Branch)】65 yuan/day

When settling in Shanghai for the first time, the area near the Bund is naturally the first choice for accommodation. This free travel youth hostel is located in an old house in Shanghai. It looks a bit shabby from the outside, but there is an elevator inside, the indoor display is very good, and the overall cost-effectiveness is very high. It takes only ten minutes to walk downstairs to the Bund and Nanjing Pedestrian Street. Just around the corner is the Peace Hotel.

A Shanghainese's day begins with the sound of the waves of the Huangpu River. At 6 o'clock in the morning, People's Park was buzzing with people and the chirping of birds woke up the whole city; at 9 o'clock, the bell of the Customs Building was heard clearly; at 10 o'clock, Nanjing East Road started the day hustle and bustle.

After noon, I took a short nap and went to Yu Garden and City God Temple for a walk... At 5 pm, I crossed Nanjing Road and went to The Bund to wait for a night on the beach in Shanghai.

Qibao and Tianzifang are the places with the strongest remnants of old Shanghai. There is a saying that "Lujiazui is Shanghai in ten years, see the Bund in Shanghai in one hundred years, and look for Qibao in Shanghai in one thousand years." Qibao Old Street has always been the busiest commercial street in Qibao area. The affordable prices are probably the irresistible temptation of Qibao Old Street.

Go to Tianzifang to find the old days of Shanghai. Some people say that Tianzifang is the most petty bourgeois place in Shanghai. There is a couplet on the pillar at the entrance of Tianzifang's alley: Old Fang and New Fang welcome guests from all directions, it is Tian Feitian that harvests grains. Eighteen simple words capture the charm of Tianzifang.

As for Oriental Pearl and World Financial Center , it depends on personal arrangements. If you have time to go to the World Financial Center for a drink and overlook the Shanghai Beach, it might be a good idea.

Fifth stop: Wuzhen

The average daily consumption of food, accommodation and transportation in Wuzhen is 70 yuan/day, and tickets for Xizha are 150 yuan/time, and tickets for Dongzha are 110 yuan/time.

Wuzhen is not big. The main attractions are East Gate and Xizha (main scenic spot) . They are not far away, but you need to buy tickets for both. There are places to stay in both East and West Gates. You can stay there, but it's not necessary. Therefore, it is most affordable to stay in a place that is about the same distance from the entrance of the scenic spot to the two gates.

【Wuzhen Zixuange Youth Hostel】40 yuan/day

On the left side of the road not far from the entrance to the scenic spot, go up to the second floor. The walls of the stairwell are filled with stories about traveling friends. The lady in the store is super sweet and gentle. There is a cat in the house, so be sure to remember to go in and out easily. Close the gauze curtain~ This kind of casual and artistic fall really feels very good. This is also the store with the best experience in this trip. Highly recommended!

The North and South Gates are free of charge, have no special development, and are not famous. However, in Nanbeizha, you can see some local old houses full of traces of time, old and huge wooden doors, and many stray dogs lying on the side or sideways on the path, not afraid of people.

Tickets for Xizha are more expensive, but it basically contains all the scenery in the south of the Yangtze River that you can imagine. The density of rivers and the number of stone bridges are the highest in the country's ancient towns. There are small bridges and flowing water, and you can sit on a hand-cranked boat and slowly enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river. Or lean against the railing and enjoy the wind, accompanying Wuzhen into the night~

East Gate is smaller than West Gate and the buildings are older. There are Mao Dun’s Former Residence and Mu Xin’s Former Residence inside which you can visit. The Jiangnan Folk Customs Museum displays the dressing habits of Jiangnan people more than a hundred years ago in different ways such as physical objects, wax figures, and photos. Some historical microcosms are captured in the style of combining Chinese and Western styles.

Note: If you can visit Dongxi Zha in one day, you can buy a joint ticket for 190 yuan/person. However, both parties must be on the same day. Tickets will be invalid overnight. It is recommended to go to Dongzha in the morning and to Xizha in the afternoon, because the night view of Xizha is more beautiful.

Sixth stop: Hangzhou

Average daily consumption reference for food, accommodation and transportation in Hangzhou: 80 yuan/day

When going to Hangzhou, of course, you should stay at around West Lake . The specific location can be based on your personal needs. You can refer to Broken Bridge or Leifeng Pagoda . I stayed at Broken Bridge this time. Near the bridge, it is convenient to go to Broken Bridge to see the night view at night.

[Hangzhou Xiangyang Youth Hostel]50 yuan/day

This store is next to Hangzhou First People's Hospital. It's easy to find the navigation after exiting the subway station. It's in a villa that looks like a family home. You don't have to worry about safety. It takes a few streets to walk to the Broken Bridge, but you can get there quickly. It’s also a good idea to go to Hubin Road (by the lake) and walk along the way to see and observe Hangzhou’s economic development!

It rained all day on the first day I arrived in Hangzhou. In the morning, I held an umbrella and wandered around Hefang Street alone. In the afternoon, I spent the afternoon admiring the flowers and river in Taiziwan Park. It's a pity that the beautiful scenery in front of me is really difficult to capture in the camera on such a rainy day.

The next day, it continued to be cloudy. I slept until almost noon and went out to see a long-lost friend. We had dinner and chatted together. We went for a walk by the lake very close to Leifeng Pagoda. We continued to walk alone on the Broken Bridge in the evening. Wandering around, I hope it will be a sunny day next time we meet.

In fact, for many people, Jiangnan is like a legend, or a temptation. Flowing water, small bridge, light rain, stone slabs, young people, alleys...here, no matter what posture you walk in, there is always a soft place deep in your heart that cannot escape the fate of being hit.

One day, when you feel that your heart has been sharpened to a rock-hard level but scarred, it is time to go to Jiangnan for a walk.
