Garmagou on the east slope of Mount Everest is known as "The most beautiful valley in the world".

Although the Everest East Slope Line has only become popular in China in recent years, it has already become famous among foreign travel enthusiasts.

In the last century, American and British explorers have been here. They were shocked by the beautiful scenery and praised it as one of the "Top Ten Landscapes in the World". They also listed the hiking routes in this area among the "Top Ten Classic Hiking in the World". line".

This simple description is enough to attract people. I checked a lot of travel notes on the east slope of Mount Everest on the Internet. I thought it was pretty good. I took advantage of Xiangye Travel to organize this event, and I decided to go and have a look in person.

This year, due to the impact of the epidemic, many trips could not be carried out as planned.

The annual major route on the east slope of Mount Everest has been on my mind, and many friends who had planned to travel were delayed because of this.

Business is our goal, but emotion is also an important reason for us to persevere, so we don’t care. Regardless of the number of team members, we decided to go ahead without hesitation. We booked round-trip air tickets early and contacted our partners to book the yak in advance.

Having made up my mind early, I have enough time to prepare. This year’s epidemic has caused many travelers who originally went to Xinjiang to change their destination to Tibet. The East Slope Route of Mount Everest, which was originally a niche route, has become a popular route during the National Day. I heard that reservations are late. Even the yaks are gone. After all, it takes a long time for a young yak to grow up, hahaha.

First, let me introduce some science to you as to why no one has climbed to the summit of the east slope of Mount Everest.

It is said that the east slope is steep and difficult to climb to the top. Usually, climbers choose to climb to the top from the south slope or the north slope. Therefore, the east slope of Mount Everest is also rarely known.

It was not until 2001 that the government organized personnel to conduct a scientific investigation on the east slope of Mount Everest for the first time.

When the expedition team went deep here, they discovered such beauty: mountains full of rhododendrons spread under the majestic snow-capped mountains; plateau elves disappear and appear in the primeval forests; mountain lakes are scattered around like jasper gems.

I thought the east slope of Mount Everest would be beautiful, but I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful. It exceeded my expectations, so I took 3,500+ photos and 200+ short videos, but I still think I didn’t fully capture its style. , it will be even more shocking if you are there.

If the most difficult and unforgettable route I have ever walked is Wolf Tower, then the most magnificent and beautiful one is the east slope of Mount Everest.

It is my consistent style to unfold the itinerary intuitively in chronological order and use photos to make up for the lack of literary skills.

It started in Lhasa on September 25, 2020, crossed the east slope of Mount Everest, and returned to Lhasa on October 7, for a total of 13 days and 12 nights.

We learned from various channels that many teams walking on the east slope of Mount Everest gathered in Lhasa on the 26th. Teammate Kaola suggested gathering one day in advance on the 25th to avoid a wave of crowds. Traveling in Xiangye followed the good advice and adopted Kaola's reasonable advice. Recommendation, it turned out to be a very wise decision.

I left early on the 25th and even reminded the girl on WeChat. It turned out that the girl was so awesome that I almost didn’t catch the plane because I was waiting for her. In the end, the girl couldn’t check in her luggage. Fortunately, she didn’t have much luggage and she couldn’t carry her hiking poles on the plane with her. Send it back.

When the radio urged us over and over again, and when everyone on the shuttle bus stared at us getting on the bus, the embarrassment was really wonderful.

Young people always leave no room for anything they do, and the plane will not wait for you just because you are beautiful. I hope that this late incident will make the girl take a good memory, and our embarrassing flight chase will not be in vain.

The teammates who arrived early went around Lhasa and replenished supplies. In the evening, everyone got together at a hot pot restaurant near the hotel. All kinds of fungi were delicious. After a few glasses of wine, we became familiar with each other. The team leader also took the opportunity to start explaining the characteristics of the route to everyone. , equipment requirements and plateau precautions.

Today is the first day to adapt to the altitude. I don’t dare to drink too much wine. Sister Ma is feeling unwell and has no appetite.

Most of the team members have experience hiking at high altitudes, including Wolf Tower, Wusun, Locke, Kilimanjaro, etc., so they are well prepared.

Only Yatou and William are not experienced enough, but they are better at being obedient.

After arriving in Shigatse in the afternoon, we still had plenty of time. After checking in, we made an appointment to go to Tashilhunpo Monastery. The veteran driver Feipu was familiar with the road and led us around the Tashilhunpo Monastery. Well, we even saved the tour guide fee. The tour guides all give routine explanations, but Fei Waterfall is amazing. They can always bring some other knowledge points, and by the way, they also popularize some religious knowledge for us.

People who turn prayers can be seen almost everywhere in Tibet. Tibetan people put scriptures in prayer wheels. Each rotation is equivalent to reciting the scriptures once, which means that they are reciting the "Six-Character Great Ming Mantra" hundreds and thousands of times. .

The Zha Temple at the foot of the Niseri Mountain in Shigatse, Tibet, means "Auspicious Sumeru Temple". I get up early when I have something on my mind, so I took my camera and climbed to the roof of the hotel early in the morning.

We arrived at the camp at 4:30 in the afternoon, which was still early. Unfortunately, the weather was not favorable and Makalu stayed hidden.

The embarrassing thing is that the yak team has not arrived for a long time. At this time, the temperature gradually begins to drop, and the warm thick clothes are still on the way. The friends can't stand it any longer. The yak workers in the stone house are lighting a fire. The friends are resourceful and helpless. The ground was warm.

I kept waiting where I was, and one group after another of yaks came over. I craned my neck every time to watch, but I was disappointed again and again. It wasn’t until dusk came that the yak groups were messy in the wind and waited.
