Silently I missed Baishan more than a month ago.
The water flow is clear and gurgling, the greenery is spreading and abundant, and the vibrant sunshine shines through the leaves and pierces the body. There is only warmth without scorching, plus a little breeze.
Changbai Mountain is enough to make people see through.
【DAY1】
You never need a reason to leave. To escape from the world, in a life where everything is planned, you need some spontaneity. Only then can you let yourself.
Do you like high-altitude windows as much as I do? It seems that you can really be freed from millions of troubles in the sky. Looking down from a high place, you feel that these troubles in life are really insignificant and not worth it. Just smile and let them go.
Travel Tips: Baishan Airport is not big. A small airport does not have such a big burden. You do not need to spend too much time in advance to get lost in a big building. There isn't even much of a place to get a meal at the airport, so it's best not to expect to eat at the airport.
After getting off the plane, we needed to pick up our luggage in time. Our luggage was taken away without any delay. Fortunately, we communicated with the airport staff in time and found it quickly. Therefore, it is best for the luggage to have obvious stickers or some special markings.
There are signs for each hotel at the pick-up area, just get on the corresponding bus.
The hotels in Wanda Resort are all good. The more recommended ones are star resort hotels such as Sheraton and Hyatt. They have complete facilities and good services. There is a shuttle bus to Tianchi every day, which saves you the trouble of transportation. The budget Ibis would be a great choice.
It was the World Cup. As soon as we got off the plane, we caught up with the night market in the resort, which was full of snacks and barbecues surrounding the resort lake. Having a barbecue, drinking a beer and watching the long-lost World Cup in the open air is also a great and special experience. And within minutes, you can feel the difference between me, who feels careless every day, and Mr. Tuzhi, a southerner like us, compared to a big guy from the north.

DAY2
The day begins with morning. The reason why we recommend a high-star hotel in Changbai Mountain is, of course, its breakfast. We stayed at the Hyatt and highly recommend it. The daily breakfast buffet is very rich, with basically everything you can think of in Chinese and Western styles. The milk alone is divided into skim, non-skim, low-fat, and hot or cold at room temperature. In addition, coffee is my must-have choice, because the coffee in a hotel is really great. Although it is an automatic coffee machine, the beans are fresh, the milk combination is good, and the taste is good. It is worth mentioning that the environment is great and the breakfast has a wide view. Brings a good mood and a good start to the day.
Travel Tips: The hotel's shuttle bus to the west slope of Tianchi leaves twice in the morning at 7:00 and 9:00, and returns to the hotel twice in the afternoon and 4 days. It’s best to control your time when traveling. It’s very convenient to take the shuttle bus. Once you don’t have time to get on the shuttle bus back, you can only take a ride at Changbai Shangmen Gate or charter a bus back to the hotel.
Changbai Mountain is divided into west slope, north slope and south slope. The east is the territory belonging to North Korea, and our country is on these three sides. There are 1,444 steps on the west slope. When the bus in the scenic area arrives at the steps, it is up to everyone to walk up.
Travel Tips: This section is quite tiring. Remember to stretch when you come down, otherwise your calf muscles will tremble.
The weather in Changbai Mountain is unpredictable and foggy all year round. Don't worry if it rains down the mountain, it may be sunny at the top. Similarly, don’t be too happy about the bright sunshine at the bottom of the mountain. It may be windy, rainy, and foggy at the top of the mountain.
Travel Tips: It’s very cold on the mountain so you need a down jacket. If you don’t want to bring it with you, you can rent it at the ticket office at the entrance of the mountain for 0 yuan. It's still worth it.
Local people said that it must be great fate and luck to be able to see Tianchi when you climb the mountain for the first time. It is indeed magnificent. After an hour of hard climbing, the refreshing and beautiful Tianchi after physical exertion is like a world between heaven and earth. There is no need to think about anything and every cell is feeling it.
We stopped for a long time, enjoying this natural and quiet beauty.

We lost track of time because of our greed for Meijing, and it was already 4:30 when we arrived at the mountain gate. We couldn't catch the 4 o'clock hotel shuttle bus, so we had to ask at the place where we were changing. The enthusiastic uncle carpooled for us. This was the girl we met during the carpool.
We chatted all the way, and now we have agreed on tomorrow’s itinerary, which was originally blank. So tomorrow we will charter a car to go to the "South Slope".
DAY3
It's nice weather again today. It’s easy to come to Tianchi and see it whenever you want.
Arriving at the mountain gate on the south slope is more impressive than on the west slope. It is worth mentioning that when you reach the south slope, you can see the Korean territory, which is the place where the soil truly meets. The sun was shining brightly under the mountain today.
However, the weather was fine all the way, but when we reached the top of the mountain, it was foggy, windy, rainy. Had to wait in the passenger rest area and queue up the south slope. There are supply stations, hot coffee, instant noodles, ponchos, and restrooms. Everyone can get a lot of convenience here. The place is guarded by armed police, and I smile occasionally, which feels very light.

On the way back to the hotel, we randomly discovered a small forest on the roadside. Everything is original and full of vitality that has not been developed.

【DAY3】
In the afternoon of the last day, we will return.
We haven’t had a good rest in the hotel resort yet, so we are ready to take a rest. Had a good enough sleep and had a leisurely breakfast.
Take the hotel ticket and go to various facilities. Due to the weather, grass skiing and tandem cycling are temporarily unavailable, but the only thing that is still open is the cable car.
The mountain forest seen from the cable car in the rain is the most beautiful mountain forest I have ever seen. Full of spirituality and fluid sensuality.
If you go to Changbai Mountain for vacation, it is still recommended to stay in a hotel with a higher star rating. First of all, facilities and services. In a remote mountain forest, if the service is good, the breakfast is great, and there are various supporting facilities. It will solve a lot of troubles and worries, allowing you to have a good mood and a good rest time throughout the day. The star-rated hotels in Changbai Mountain itself are also a scenic spot and have a series of recreational facilities. In addition to grass skiing, cable cars, and tandem bicycles, there are also skiing and igloo projects in winter, so don’t miss it. If you have children, you can go to the water amusement park in the hotel resort every day in the summer, which is large enough to have fun.
Travel Tips: The price that everyone is most concerned about is that you can go during non-peak seasons, which means it is neither summer nor winter, haha. For example, our trip was in June, which happened to be spring in Baishan. The overall cost of the trip is 3500rmb/person. Not the kind of poor traveler. During the peak season, the price per person is around 10,000 for the same size. So people who don’t particularly want to ski can choose to experience the different beauty of Changbai Mountain in the three seasons of the year like us.
