Liujiang Ancient Town

Liujiang Ancient Town is located in Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, 150 kilometers away from Chengdu. It takes about 2 hours to drive from Chengdu.

There is no river named "Liujiang" in Liujiang Ancient Town. The name comes from the fact that in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the Liu and Jiang clansmen in the town jointly built a long stone street and renamed it "Liujiangchang". With the passage of time, it has become today's Liujiang Ancient Town.

Although there is no "Liujiang" river here, it is not difficult to see from the first picture at the beginning that there is indeed a river passing through here. This river divides the ancient town into two banks. One bank is mainly used for eating, living and shopping, and the other bank is mainly used for water play.

Liujiang Ancient Town is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and its unique geographical environment adds aura to it. Features here include style stilted buildings, towering ancient trees, family courtyards that combine Chinese and Western styles, river jumping on piers, water mahjong, etc.

Liujiang Ancient Town also has a poetic name - Yanyu Liujiang. This name gives people an artistic conception of poetry. Even if I have never seen the misty Liujiang River with my own eyes, I still feel that the scene is beautiful just by imagining it, just like "the beauty of the West Lake, a sunny lake is not as good as a rainy lake."

As you can see from the video above, the river is wide and there are stone piers laid in the river channel. There are several stone piers like this that cross the river, also called jumping piers. I think this jumping pier is more attractive. It is not a straight line, but an S-shape, full of design. Most tourists will experience it on this jumping pier, and there are many people posing on it, which is really good for filming.

Cross the river with the help of stone piers and go to the other side, where you can experience the joy of playing in the water. Of course this happiness is exclusive to summer. After reaching the other side, you can tread water by the river, go to the amusement pool to play free projects, or experience water mahjong.

The water depth of this amusement pool is about 50 centimeters, and there are free projects such as river-crossing rings, river-crossing wooden bridges, river-crossing iron cables, and river-crossing swings. To be honest, I came up with the names of these projects myself.

The most comfortable thing is to sit on the water and drink tea, or play water mahjong. This water does not mean that people are soaking in the water/floating on the water, but that there is flowing water covering the insteps, and tables and chairs are placed on this basis. Sit on a chair and put your feet in the water. When the water flows, you can lie down comfortably all afternoon. (one seat per person, tea 20 yuan/person)

This is my second time to Liujiang Ancient Town. Because the first time I went there, I only took a quick look and missed it all the time, so I took my time this time. It was the first time for my friend to go there. After finishing it, he said he wanted to go there again later and thought it was pretty good. I am also taking advantage of this interest to recommend it to everyone.
