Zengcuo'an

Zengcuo'an is located in the southeast of Xiamen Island. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one side. It is artistic and romantic and is on the list of many tourists. More than ten years ago, this was just a quiet little fishing village isolated from the world.

In the Hokkien language, "cuo" means house or residence; and "an" is a transliteration of "an", which refers to the mountain col. This is where the name Zengcuo'an comes from.

When I came here to take photos a few years ago, there were shouts from businesses on the street and tourists were rushing around. It was quite difficult to take a clean photo.

Now, there are not many shops open for business, and the business is very deserted. It is not as lively and bustling as in the past. When the epidemic hits the world, the tourism industry bears the brunt. For two years, everyone has been waiting to welcome back to that free world.

Street cultural and creative store

I think this title as the most artistic fishing village in China is exaggerated. Literature and art have never been about noise.

Zengcuo'an is a collection of elements such as food, cultural creativity, homestays, fishing village culture, and southern Fujian culture. There are mouth-watering delicacies here, including grilled durian, shrimp pulled eggs, oyster omelette, sand tea noodles... Every street is a hodgepodge of delicacies.

However, the delicious food is only superficial prosperity. A few people still remember the background of Zengcuo'an. Palaces, ancestral halls, theaters, churches, old houses...these traces of the past are hidden in every corner of Zengcuo'an, silently telling the history of Zengcuo'an.

Zengcuo'an Scenic Area is not big and can be visited in 1-2 hours. If you are not in a hurry, take a stroll and find the best scene for shooting.

As I walked through the food court, I discovered a boundary that I had not reached before in the outer area, including dilapidated, messy, and old houses that had not been renovated after demolition...

After walking out of the main scenic area, a splendid (yes, splendid and glittering) temple unexpectedly appeared in this dilapidated area.

Xiamen Qiming Temple is located at the foot of Longrui Mountain in Zengcuo'an. The temple has the Tianwang Hall, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Guanyin Hall, Main Hall, and Amitabha Hall. The Amitabha Hall has a tall bronze statue of Amitabha, which is 21 meters high and is the largest indoor bronze statue in the country. .

There is a fitness trail built on the mountain behind the temple. From the bottom of the mountain, you can see the pavilion on the mountainside. If you climb up to the pavilion, you should be able to see the panoramic view of Zengcuo'an, the sea to the east, the Twin Towers not far away, and the gentle sunset in winter. .

Because the sun was almost setting at that time, the layman on duty at the Amitabha Hall did not advise me to climb the mountain, so I gave up. I just don’t know when the next time I will come.

After shooting for about two hours in the scenic spot, we finally headed to the coast opposite Zengcuo'an before sunset. At this time, the sky has already been dyed orange, a red sun is slowly setting, the golden glow is rising and falling with the sea water, and the delicate texture is like a piece of fine fairy silk, shining brightly.

The store on the seaside is playing Jay Chou's "Love in B.C.". The classic and timeless melody accompanies this beautiful scenery that has been staged for tens of millions of years, and everyone stops to listen to it.
