It's really cold at night at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. Fortunately, the weather is sunny and the temperature will rise soon after the sun comes out.

Ice particles on the floor in the morning

After breakfast, Brother Liang took me to visit their glass plank road and starry sky cabin, and described his later plans. There are flowers, pastures and tent camps. In summer, you can see the sea of clouds and the starry sky. If you are lucky, you can even see a double rainbow. Just thinking about it makes people fascinated.

Medocuo in the morning

Not long after setting off, I saw a large group of yaks on the roadside. Even though they were big, they were actually very timid and would run away if they got even slightly closer. Only this yellow yak can play with me for a while. Is the character of a yak also determined by its color?

Xiao Huang is the best

In order to find more yaks, I climbed up a hillside, but found that there was not a single yak here.

Suddenly I heard someone calling me from behind. When I looked back, I saw three people lying in the grass doing something unknown, and they were dressed a bit like terrorists. My heart skipped a beat. Could it be that I met the Ax Gang in the wilderness? But it didn’t look like it from their smiling expressions, so I politely walked over and said hello.

Herdsmen grazing cattle on the hillside

They said: They are herdsmen who herd cattle. They heard me imitating the braying of cows and saw me playing with their cows.

I asked them if there was a road from the top of the mountain to National Highway 318. They said I could walk on and pointed me in a direction.

So I followed this direction and came to a dirt road that was rolled over by wheels. Later I discovered that this dirt road actually existed on the map, but I just had to enlarge the map to see it.

Elementary pathfinding get ✔️

Walking along the dirt road, I saw some houses where the mountain road meets the national highway. It looked like a service area with bathrooms. But when I walked down, I discovered that this was just an ordinary fork in the road, and the branched path led to Xiolo Town.

The fork in the road leading to Xiolo Town

When I approached the house on the roadside, a Tibetan sister came out and asked me to go out to get out of the wind and drink some water. This Tibetan sister has a very foreign name called Milam, and she looks a little older than me.

Milam

Milam said her family lives in Xiolo Town, and she and her husband moved here just three days ago. As soon as I sat down, my eldest brother served me a plate of fried pork liver, and also gave me a flower roll, which was made from wheat grown by myself.

I just remembered to take a photo when I was almost finished. It tasted really good!

Sitting in the house, eating and warming up by the fire, chatting with them. They have two children, both of whom are currently attending school in Nanchong. They earn a little money by digging up Cordyceps sinensis and entertaining passers-by to support their children's studies. They can provide accommodation here, the conditions are not very good, but it is very cheap, only 25 yuan/person.

On the way from Jianziwanshan Tunnel to Honglong Town, there are really few places to stay. If you can't find accommodation, this is also a good choice. (This place has no name on the map, it is located at the fork 1.3 kilometers southeast of Route 119)

They said that Xiolo Town is very beautiful in the summer and invited me to come and play around July. My eldest brother said that he could take me to ride a horse up the mountain to see the sea.

Before leaving, I asked them how much they paid for their meal just now. They said they don't want money. I said that I met a Tibetan brother in Luding. He heard that I was going to Tibet and gave me 100 yuan to use on the road. I wanted to use the money here, but they still refused to accept it, life or death.

So this meal turned into a priceless lunch, confirming the saying: free is the most expensive! This gave me some new understanding and thinking about money.

Today’s originally planned destination was Kazila Mountain, but since there was no accommodation in Kazila Mountain, I had to go to Red Dragon Town to stay and meet up with the Turtle Team who were resting there.

When it was past 6 p.m., I was still 30 kilometers away from Honglong Town and had to take a ride to get there. I was very lucky today. I caught a ride on a car that was going back to Honglong Town. The owner of the car also had a beautiful name, Luo Ri.

Luo Ri said that there are only three inns in Honglong Town, and the conditions are similar. The inn where I wanted to stay was owned by his relatives, so he took me directly to the door of the inn with ease.
