The Bayern game ended and the trip to Munich came to an end. I took the early morning train to Cologne.

Why Cologne? Because on the route from Munich to Paris, it is inevitable to change trains; since you have to transfer trains, simply find an ideal transfer place for a day trip. After looking at the recommended tourist attractions in Germany, and considering the distance of the itinerary, Cologne Cathedral is a suitable choice.

There were many Bayern fans from out of town riding this train with me. I originally thought they might be near Munich and would get off after just one or two stops, which would not delay my work on Monday. As a result, they got off the bus when they arrived in Bonn at almost 5:30, just one stop ahead of me: the enthusiasm of the fans is really not exaggerated.

It was too early to arrive in Cologne at around 6 o'clock, and it was still dark. I ordered breakfast at McDonald's and sat there until 8 o'clock when it started to get light, and then I was ready to set off.

In fact, it doesn’t matter whether we leave or not. When you look up from the Cologne train station, you can see the Cologne Cathedral. It is true that the destination is the starting point.

This was taken in the afternoon:

If there is no sunlight, Cologne Cathedral looks a bit burnt and gray, but with the light, it will have a different feeling.

The church opened at 6 o'clock, but when I arrived after 8 o'clock, there were only one or two tourists in the church, and it was very quiet.

Climbing the tower starts at 9 o'clock, and the treasure room opens at 10 o'clock, so you can just go to the tower first to see the scenery from above. Cologne Cathedral is the second tallest church in Germany and the third tallest in the world. It was once the tallest church in the world and the tallest building in the world from 1880 to 1888. Climbing to the top depends entirely on your feet, so the biggest feeling is: It’s so high!

After you climb to a platform, you still need to continue climbing to a higher place through the stairs, but when you reach the high place, you can have a panoramic view of the mountains. For the height alone, the ticket price is worth it. Photos taken through a small hole in the wire:

When you come down, there is another floor where you can see the big clock.

The items collected in the treasure room are very gorgeous, which is in line with the "flashy" aesthetic style of the time, but it doesn't quite match the style of modern people. I don't know much about Western history, so I won't say much about my impressions of it.

However, when entering the church, the place where the remains of the three wise men who made pilgrimages to the East were kept was opened.

In the afternoon, someone was "blowing" bubbles next to the church, causing a group of children to run and jump around chasing bubbles, and the whole place burst into laughter. I don't know why this guy is "blowing" bubbles here, but when I see the bright smiles on the faces of the people around me, I can't help but give this guy a big thumbs up: Because of you, there is one more scenery!
