Picture: Seeing the famous Tower Bridge through the large floor-to-ceiling windows of Three Quays

I’ve divided the various styles of hotels we stayed in in London into three categories:

1. Family hotel

The Queensgate Fraser Plaza Hotel and Three Quays are both serviced apartments with kitchens and washing machines. Lao Wang ordered a two-bedroom apartment, which is very suitable for a family with children.

2. Business hotel

Hyatt Regency Churchill and Langham Hotel are both established five-star hotels. They are located in prosperous areas and have convenient transportation, making them suitable for business travelers.

3. Traveling with best friends

I recommend The Capital. It’s a stone’s throw away from Rhodes Department Store and Famous Store Street. The hotel is quite old and the room is small with a small living room, which is very suitable for shopping, eating and shopping.

We all booked through booking or Ctrip.

Picture: The serviced apartment has a living room, kitchen and washing machine, which is especially suitable for a family traveling long distances.

Lao Wang washed the whole family's clothes, but it was a thankless task and he got scolded because he washed the dark clothes and light clothes together.

The fully equipped kitchenware greatly inspired Lao Wang's enthusiasm for cooking. In the morning, he cooked spaghetti and baked pizza for everyone to eat.

Generally speaking, the locations of the London hotels we have stayed in are very good and quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The rooms are generally not big, so if you are traveling with a family, it is more convenient to book a serviced apartment.

The Chelsea district where Queensgate Fraser Plaza Hotel is located is full of long rows of 5-storey old buildings, which are very interesting. The building where the hotel is located is a Grade II listed Edwardian townhouse. The advantage of an old house is that you can just run downstairs.

The children woke up and rushed downstairs for breakfast.

During the parent-child trip in 2014, I went to bed late and got up late. I didn't get up until almost 10 o'clock every day. It was usually 12 o'clock when I left home. Various situations happened every day.

Although the second sister behaves more like a tomboy, her taste is extremely ladylike - she likes to wear skirts and refused to wear the jersey I prepared that day. After much persuasion and persuasion, I finally managed to convince her to have the same style as everyone else.

This happens almost every day, but three times the hard work is three times the joy.

At Three Quays, the rooms we booked at right angles to the corner rooms allow us to view the Tower of London and Tower Bridge at the same time. Because it is the peak summer season, we need to book for 5 consecutive nights. Lao Wang booked it more than two months in advance. Special price is HKD 30,000 for 5 nights. When we checked in on the first night, we stayed on the second floor, and the view was greatly reduced. Later, Lao Wang wrote an email and moved us to the fifth floor the next day, and the view was immediately different.

You can see the Tower of London and the red poppies from the terrace.

The Capital, where I stayed in 2018, is not provided with a room card, but a key with a wooden room number. You need to hand the key to the front desk every time you go out. I wrote three postcards in this old British-style hotel and sent them to my three siblings in Hong Kong.

We stayed at the following hotels:

Hyatt Regency Churchill

(Hyatt Regency London-the Churchill)

The Churchill Grand Hyatt Hotel is the tallest building in the city and was built to commemorate Sir Winston Churchill. The hotel's library has been reduced to a decorative role, and a statue of Churchill is displayed at the door of the business room. Many places in the hotel are full of artistic atmosphere, but the lobby is not grand but very warm, just like the pastoral country feel we have seen throughout London.

Transportation: It is 390 meters away from Stone Arch Tube Station, about a 5-minute walk; it is only a 900m walk away from Marylebone Station.

Nearby attractions: is located in the city center and is very close to many famous attractions. It takes 5 to 15 minutes by taxi to get there.

Accommodation: The hotel is a bit old and the rooms are relatively small.

Food: I heard that The Churchill Bar in the hotel is an internet celebrity’s afternoon tea spot.

Address: 30 Portman Square

Statue of Churchill.

Fraser Plaza Hotel Queensgate

(Fraser Suites Queens Gate)

This is a serviced apartment near Imperial College London. The hotel is full of beautiful flowers and has a small backyard.

Transportation: It is next to Gloucester Road Subway Station. We took the subway directly from the airport and it only took half an hour to get here. Another subway station, South Kensington Station, is about 1 km away from the hotel. There is a large subway station exit. supermarket.

Nearby attractions: Walking back to the hotel from South Kensington Underground Station, you will pass the Natural History Museum, which is only 400 meters away from the hotel; it is only 1 km away from Harrods Department Store and Kensington Palace, where Princess Diana once lived. Much more; just a 7-minute walk from the borders of Hyde Park.

Accommodation: The hotel has a total of 24 bedrooms. The rooms are more than 4 meters high and there is an open kitchen. The room area is very large in London. It was less than 8 o'clock when we arrived at the hotel, so we could only go through the formalities first and not check in.

Breakfast: There are not many types of breakfast in the hotel.

Address: 39B Queens Gate Gardens

There are few choices for breakfast, but I don’t want to eat the pasta cooked by Lao Wang anymore.

The Court Hotel London Three Quays

(London Cheval Three Quays)

Three Quays on the banks of the Thames River, close to Tower Bridge, has an excellent location and is newly renovated. Lao Wang booked a two-bedroom Tower Bridge viewing room, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the scenery outside the window.

Transportation: There is a taxi stand opposite the hotel; a 350-meter walk from Tower Hill Underground Station; a 600-meter walk from Fenchurch Street Railway Station.

Nearby attractions: You can see the River Thames and Tower Bridge from the window.

Hardware equipment: I praise the various advanced machines in the kitchen, including ovens, dishwashers and even grinders! Lao Wang was full of praise for the complete set of Siemens kitchen laundry equipment and praised that the drying time only took 40 minutes. The advanced kitchen utensils greatly inspired Lao Wang's enthusiasm for cooking. He not only made breakfast, but also brewed a cup of fragrant coffee without any teacher.

Service: Not only the hardware is good, but also free fresh milk and yoghurt are provided. The most surprising thing for the children is a set of Monopoly toys.

Accommodation: The rooms are spacious, simple and comfortable.

Food: We have not eaten at this hotel because the kitchen is fully equipped. It would be a pity not to cook with such good kitchen equipment, and there is a supermarket downstairs.

Address: 40 Lower Thames Street

Children who just got up in the morning.

Kids play Monopoly.

Langham Hotel

(The Langham London)

This century-old store is named after Sir James Langham and has a sense of age. The hotel is not big, and the elegant British style permeates every part of the hotel. There is a thick book in the room that introduces the history of the hotel. In 1865, this hotel had traditional afternoon tea and was the first hotel in London to provide afternoon tea.

Transportation: It is only a 5-minute walk from Oxford Circus Tube Station.

Nearby attractions: The hotel is located on Regent Street, a famous shopping street in the center of London, suitable for friends who like shopping. The hotel is also very close to major attractions in the city.

Accommodation: The room is small but very cozy, and it is quiet at night.

Breakfast: The restaurant is decorated in a light and elegant style, decorated with pink flowers everywhere, and the breakfast is rich in variety.

Address: 1C Portland Place, Regent Street

A good day starts with an energy-filled and healthy breakfast. A cup of black coffee, two pieces of smoked salmon, two pieces of roasted mushrooms, half a roasted tomato, a small bowl of oatmeal with milk, a small jar of yogurt, two boiled egg whites, and a small plate of fruit.

Congress Hotel London

(The Capital London)

The hotel was built in 1971 and has a strong historical and cultural heritage. It is an old five-star hotel and provides British-style accommodation services. The renovated hotel has retro decoration and elegant furnishings.

Transportation: It is a 300-meter walk from Knightsbridge Underground Station, about 4 minutes.

Nearby attractions: is the hotel closest to the famous London department store Harrods, just downstairs; next to it is Hyde Park, a 900-meter walk away.

Accommodation: Typical British classical style. The disadvantage is that the room is a bit old and the elevator is extremely small.

Food: Has 1 Michelin-starred seafood restaurant.

Address: 22-24 Basil Street Knightsbridge

Seller Show VS Buyer Show

See below for details:

Hyatt Regency London-the Churchill

In 2011, I came to London on the company's overseas tour and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Churchill Hotel.

Places for guests to rest can be found everywhere.

Simply furnished room.

Fraser Suites Queens Gate

In July 2014, our family of five and my colleague, mother and daughter, traveled to London together. The trip lasted for ten days, and Lao Wang booked this hotel for the first three nights.

The children helped with the luggage.

There are beautiful flowers everywhere in the hotel.

The hotel's small back garden.

The rooms in the old house are very high, more than 4 meters tall, and the bathroom is huge.

Everyone was exhausted after returning from outlet shopping, and it was 5pm in London and already 12pm in Hong Kong, so we had to take care of dinner by ourselves. After taking a bath, everyone ate instant noodles. The children went to bed at 8 o'clock, and I fell asleep at 10 o'clock for the first time.

Start a new day's journey.

London Cheval Three Quays

hotel lobby.

Close to the Tower of London, day vs night view.

When we checked in on the first night, we stayed on the second floor, and the view was greatly reduced. On the second day, we were moved to a higher floor, and the view was much better, including the Tower Bridge of London at night.

The Thames, the pier downstairs of the hotel.

Small terrace.

Night, cozy room.

Kitchen and bar, fully equipped kitchen.

We were almost exhausted, but the energetic children continued to exercise after dinner.

It would be a pity not to cook in such a good kitchen, not to mention that our colleague (a girl from Chengdu) who is traveling with us is a chef. When I came out of Diana Memorial Park, I discovered an authentic Chinese supermarket that even had Haidilao dipping sauce. It was so professional! It’s a perfect match with the Huangcheng Mom hotpot base I brought from Hong Kong! I also bought pork bone soup in the supermarket to make white soup for my children. As soon as she came back she was very busy. First, they cooked some corn cobs for the children, and then they made mandarin duck hot pot for us, along with some wine.

The children had a great time nibbling corn before dinner.

The Langham London

I came to London for a conference in 2016 and stayed at the Langham Hotel.

The Capital London

In the last two days before returning to Hong Kong in 2018, Lao Wang helped me make a reservation at The Capital next to Harrods Department Store in order to facilitate my shopping.
