It was a good rest in Deqin. After all, we were in the county town and the conditions were much better. After waking up, we did not stop in Deqin to rest. We planned to ride slowly to Foshan Township, which would reduce the intensity of the next day's riding.

Day 8

Deqin→Meili Snow Mountain→Foshan Township→Dali Ju Inn

Today's journey is relatively easy, and you can stop and say hello if you see any animals on the road.

8 kilometers of gentle slope leads to Feilai Temple. It is said that this is the best place to view Meili Snow Mountain. It has a slightly heavier commercial atmosphere. If you continue walking down, Meili Snow Mountain will accompany you all the way.

There are thirteen peaks in Meili Snow Mountain, the main peak is Kawagebo, which is 6,740 meters above sea level. Being able to see his face depends largely on fate. Legend has it that many people waited at Feilai Temple for half a month but failed to do so. We stopped at a clearing on the side of the road to see if we could wait until Kawagbo showed up.

"Watching Meri"

The weather was good, but the snowy peaks were just obscured by clouds.

Finally, for a brief moment, the wind and clouds cleared, and Kawagebo appeared in front of us. Although it was short-lived, we were satisfied.

I met some uncles who were said to be members of a certain local photography association, so we took a group photo together.

Meili Snow Mountain is a place of treasures. I hope I will have the opportunity to come here again in the future, whether it is walking around the mountain, hiking Yubeng, or just looking up at Feilai Temple.

Leap lightly to show respect.

In the afternoon, we arrived in Foshan Township, where the raw materials for Yunnan red wine are located. The grapes in this area taste particularly sweet because of the good sunshine. We found home-brewed wine in the village, grabbed bottles and drank as much as we could, and enjoyed dinner at a Tibetan inn.

We drank a little too much that night and talked a lot, but we still didn't talk about why the other party wanted to engage in self-abuse such as cycling in Tibet, nor did we mention the life in their respective cities.

Day9

Foshan Township→Yanjing→Quzika

This day is a milestone because we are riding into Tibet. The weather in Foshan Township is very good, with blue sky and white clouds, and snow-capped mountains can be seen everywhere.

Although it is going uphill, I am still very excited, getting closer and closer to Tibet.

Many people will stop here because they have officially entered the Qamdo area of Tibet.

I really like this kind of road, the sun is shining high, I am a little hot, and I am a little hungry.

When approaching the salt well, many eagles were hovering in the sky, making the land look even more majestic.

The sky in Tibet is very blue and we plan to have lunch at Yanjing.

After registration, enter the salt well.

Lunch is this legendary home noodles, which is very enjoyable. The plate of stones on the table is used for counting. Every time you eat a bowl of noodles, take out a stone. If you break the record of this store, you can get a free order.

The waiter will keep adding more noodles to you. When you surrender, just put the crossed chopsticks on the bowl. The portion of each bowl of noodles is not large. The last stone is my achievement. Abin ate 38 bowls, and the store’s record was 147 bowls.

After lunch, we continued forward and entered Quzika Village under the valley to spend the night because there are hot springs there.

I saw two abandoned dogs on the road. They were beautiful and cute, but very weak. My teammates gave them food and water. It looked like they were starving.

The road to Quzika is still beautiful. The plateau, snow-capped mountains, blue sky, white clouds, and prayer flags are all my favorites. I feel happy and happy.

I didn't expect there to be such a place under the valley. Today's journey is not difficult, but I have some knee problems. I will stay at a hot spring hotel tonight to have a good rest.

There are natural hot springs indoors and a constant-temperature swimming pool outdoors. Riding for many days is really a relief.

There are also some hot spring pools outside, and next to them is the famous Lancang River. Soaking in hot springs by the roaring Lancang River is very special.

Looking back at this photo, it had not been exposed beyond recognition.

The next step is to climb Hongla Mountain, a distance of 102km and an elevation gain of 2100m. There are now six people in the team, and everyone is very united. I hope we can all successfully climb Hongla Mountain, ride out together, and reach the final destination together.
