It’s been a while since I came back from South America. Every time I look at the thousands of photos and videos on my computer and cloud disk, my hand holding the mouse feels as if I’m discouraged. My head often goes blank and I have no idea what to do. But it’s Christmas now. The joyful atmosphere has surrounded the entire circle of friends in the past two days. When I turn on my mobile phone, it seems that everyone has had a fulfilling holiday. This inspired me to take the first step and start from hundreds of pictures every day. Pick one or two of the photos and try to restart my Sanwuzhazha memory bank. How we spent every day, where we went, what the scenery was like there, the people we met gradually, and the stories that happened resurfaced, and we will tell them slowly in the future.
I also thought about processing the photos, but we are not writing a guide, so I decided to use the original photos taken directly from my mobile phone (mainly out of laziness). They may not be pretty enough, but they are full of memories. The sky is gloomy because it has just rained. The reason why the photo is blurry is because I zoomed in too hard. It’s mainly because I am greedy for the beauty in the lens and I am too embarrassed to get closer to take a photo. There are also some from strange angles, maybe they were taken secretly in a panic (who doesn’t have a special hobby). . .
June 27 Moscow Airport
Arrive in London on June 28
When I first arrived in London, the weather was very good. I walked around the city and was shocked by the British people's love for parks. Not to mention that after passing one park, I would find another one within two steps. This is also a subversion of the practice of sunbathing freely in the park. My impression of the British. Later I heard from friends studying in the UK that there is a rumor: In the UK, as soon as the sun comes up, British people who are usually invisible grow out of the grass in an instant. Based on what I saw in those days, if I think about it carefully, this is really appropriate.
June 29 Wimbledon
The main purpose of going to the UK was to see Federer at Wimbledon 2019. The dissatisfied man set out from London to Wimbledon, unaware of what would happen next.
June 30 “Refugee Camp” Party
The British are internationally renowned for their love of queuing. In today's Internet age, Wimbledon has continued to maintain the fine tradition of queuing to buy tickets. For milk fans, Wimbledon is undoubtedly the most exciting Grand Slam. If you don’t camp and line up, you will be sorry for the fan base that joined. If you want to enter the central court where Lao Fei is, it is not enough to camp one day in advance, and two days in advance cannot be considered foolproof. This was the scene when we arrived two days early. Even the British laugh at themselves "come to Wimbledon to queue"
July 1st camping experience
We, who have little camping experience and have come from afar, watched the locals sitting in piles on their own deck chairs, drinking champagne from the freezer, chatting and laughing with "neighbors", and really envied them. Skills for vacationing anywhere and flirting. Fortunately, the turf of the All England Club is excellent. If you have nothing to do, you can hang out at the camp and meet Lao Fei and Natto by chance in advance. The time of being exposed to the sun and absorbing heat during the day and shivering and keeping warm at night has passed in the blink of an eye.
July 2nd Round 1
Looking back now, when I sat in the center court and saw Federer's mood at such a close distance, I could rank in the top three of the little girl's excitement rankings in the past 20 years (the top two are to be determined). At that time, I naively thought that I would be satisfied if I could see Lao Fei win this promotion, haha~
Go to recuperate on July 3rd
Farewell to Wimbledon for the time being, we chose Wales in the west as a place to recuperate after camping. Cardiff is the capital of Wales, a quiet and beautiful city with very convenient public transportation. Here we met an atypical British landlord with a hearty laugh, and Biggie, who accompanied us to watch football games, is the most considerate and arrogant person. Meow star.
4th July Cardiff Beach
Wandering around downtown Cardiff, I found a delicious bakery and walked all the way to Cardiff Beach. It turns out that English people don't just grow out of the grass, there are also many men and women growing on the beach. Under the blue sky and white clouds of Wales, we lay on the beach and fell asleep while enjoying the sea breeze. The afternoon slipped away in such a leisurely manner.
July 5 Langland Bay
Every day when we meet back at the B&B, the host will always ask with curiosity where we have been. Our answer is often that we haven’t gone anywhere, we just walked around. In fact, we are just not keen on visiting tourist attractions. But as enthusiastic as he is, he may not see tourists doing nothing. The little brother recommended a private beach known only to locals - Langland Bay. The Atlantic Ocean in this season is very cold and unfriendly. Just when I was regretting not wearing more clothes, I was suddenly hit by the oncoming youth. Hey, can you wear flowery pants if you are young and beautiful?
July 6th Cardiff stroll
There is also a restaurant in Cardiff that has the best English breakfast in our opinion. During our few days in Wales, it wasn’t the sights that woke us up, but the bacon and hash browns here.
July 7th check-in day
Seizing the last time in Wales, we returned to being emotionless check-in tourists and visited Cardiff Castle in front of it.
July 8 Henman Hill
Returning to Wimbledon, Wimbledon has entered the fourth round. We were late and only bought tickets for the outfield. Watching the big screen at Henman Hill with many fans is also a different experience. The simultaneous broadcast It was dizzying to watch the games in different venues. Lao Fei advanced again. We were not calm anymore and started to think about various possibilities. During this period, I also went to the training ground to catch up with Lao Fei. It was his first time chasing stars at this age. I will share the details next time.
July 9 London House
During the Wimbledon period, accommodation in Wimbledon was expensive and difficult to book. We stayed in a B&B in London most of the time, just near the subway station. It was more convenient to go to the city or to the stadium. The quality of ingredients in British supermarkets is very good, but there are not many varieties. In unscheduled free days, the hard-working chefs will freely use the limited ingredients to comfort our hungry Chinese stomachs.
Watch the game in the bar on July 10th
Being as poor as we are, we don’t have Mao Zedong to support every game played by Fei, so we found a bar near the B&B. All the bars in the UK seem to be as serious as restaurants, or are restaurants a bit informal? It's quiet here, so we came early to find seats and wait for Federer to advance to the semifinals.
July 11 British Museum
July 12th a happy day
The morning before, when I was sleepy, I accidentally grabbed two tickets for the semi-finals. Looking at the various moans from the milk powder group that I couldn't grab, I realized that I got lucky and my character exploded. On this day, I was lucky enough to watch Federer, Djokovic and Nadal at the same time. However, at that time, I only greedily hoped that Federer could make it to the end. There was no room for anything else in my nervous mood.
July 13 Notting Hill
My impression of the British gentleman probably started with Hugh Grant, from "Morris Lover" to "Notting Hill" to the recent "A Very English Scandal". In the movie, the streets that the hero walks through every day and the familiar markets seem to have never changed. Every weekend, people still come here to pick out the fruits and vegetables for the next week, as well as various handicrafts, blending in with the crowd and pretending to live here. Who will walk into the bookstore next?
July 14 Big Plate
On this day, we, who were watching the finals at the B&B, suffered tons of blows together with the majority of milk fans. Seeing that Lao Fei was about to win the 21st Grand Slam, he finally missed it and picked up a big plate. Looking back now, it still hurts, but this is also a game worth talking about. Self-reflection, as a Federer fan, you still need to have a Buddhist consciousness to watch football, watch and cherish it, and appreciate Federer's grace on the court. Isn’t it the welfare of this era?
