The Longmen Grottoes are located in the southern suburbs of Luoyang, on both sides of the Yi River. Place Stone cave , which is to dig holes in the mountain with various statues inside.

It was rated as "the highest peak of Chinese stone carving art" by UNESCO and ranks first among all major grottoes in China. It is now a world cultural heritage, a national key cultural relic protection unit, and a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. By Xishan Stone Caves, Dongshan Grottoes, Xiangshan Temple and White Garden It consists of four scenic spots.
The main highlights of the Longmen Grottoes are in the West Mountain , and the other three scenic spots are all in the Dongshan. I lived on the Dongshan side, but due to time constraints, I could only visit the West Mountain side.
From Dongshan to Xishan, you can actually cross the Longmen Bridge and take pictures of the Yihe River on the bridge.

Xiangshan Temple in Dongshan
Below are various statues, just record a few.
Qianxi Temple is the first large cave at the northern end of Longmen West Mountain. The main Buddha, Amitabha, is sitting on the Sumeru Platform. He has a plump face and bulging chest. His clothes are hanging diagonally in front of him. All parts of his body are well-proportioned and his expression is wise. The whole posture gives people With a sense of tranquility and kindness. On the left side of the main Buddha is the eldest disciple Kassapa, and on the right side is the junior disciple Ananda. Next to the two disciples are Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva respectively.
Binyang Three Cave Appearance
Binyang Middle Cave. The main Buddha, Sakyamuni, is flanked by two disciples and two Bodhisattvas. There is also a pavilion of statues on the left and right walls, each with a Buddha and two Bodhisattvas, wearing robes and cassocks, standing on a lotus base.
The "scissor hands" Buddha statue (Amitabha) in Binyang North Cave. This "scissor hands" is actually a very rare Buddhist mudra.

Lotus Cave: It is named after a large lotus carved in high relief on the top of the cave. The lotus roof of the Great Hall of the People is designed based on this lotus.
The next one is Fengxian Temple, which is the essence of Longmen Grottoes. It is the largest and most artistic group of cliff-shaped sculptures in the Longmen Grottoes. Buddha statue: nine bodies in total. The main Buddha in the middle is the Great Buddha of Lusena, which was carved by Wu Zetian according to his appearance and manner. On the right is the eldest disciple Kassapa, and on the left is the junior disciple Ananda, followed by Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (left) and Manjushri Bodhisattva (right). , the heroic King of Heaven, the aggressive Hercules and the Lord Vrushena together form a group of art images that are rich in modality and texture.
