Xisha Qianhu Miao Village still belongs to Qiandongnan Prefecture. It is a little south of Zhenyuan. It seems to be closer to Dong Village, but due to traffic reasons, the route we designed is still more reasonable.

Departing from the ancient town in the morning, it takes about two hours to arrive. Because we left early, the misty weather made the road full of beautiful scenery.

A temporary stop on the way to take pictures of the mountain scenery.

Farmland and villages on the roadside

It feels like a fairyland!

We entered the Miao Village and walked a winding road. It was less than 9 o'clock when we arrived, and we caught up with a song and dance performance at the gate. You must know that song and dance performances are a very important part of the Miao Village's tourism projects. Although the one we caught up with wasn't considered official.

After the performance, we entered the entrance of the scenic spot.

Looking back after entering the scenic spot

The archway next to it.

Cars are also not allowed inside the village, and we have to walk for a while with our luggage on gravel roads. We packed as lightly as possible and put everything we didn’t need for the day in the car. It took a while to find the B&B we booked.

Fortunately, you don't have to turn around to book the place. Just walk straight in and it's not difficult to find it. The house is just like a stilt building, it must be built on a hillside, but when you enter the hotel, it doesn't feel like it. It's the same as an ordinary house, but with more wooden structures.

After putting down our luggage and going out for shopping, there is a small museum next to it, which explains the Miao culture. It is not known who these two statues are.

Qianhu Miao Village is a place that preserves the "original ecological" culture of the Miao people. It is composed of more than 10 natural villages built on the mountain and is connected into a piece. It is the largest Miao village in China and even the world. It is a place to appreciate and understand the long history and development of the Miao people in China. This place is much more famous than the Dong village, and of course it has a much more commercial atmosphere.

There is a performing arts plaza opposite the museum on the second floor.

Typical Miao costumes, covered with silver. Legend has it that half of the family fortune will be worn by girls.

Continuing to look at the street scene, almost all ancient towns have this style.

One of the attractions of the Miao Village is to see the entire village on the mountain. The ticket includes a ticket to go up the mountain. We first took the bus to see it.

There are many stilted buildings built against the mountain.

Take a panoramic shot

I feel that stilted buildings and terraced fields have something in common. They are both built on hillside, and there is basically no plain here.

Legend has it that the Miao people are the descendants of Chi You. They were driven out of the Central Plains after their defeat in the war with the Yellow Emperor. They could only survive in these barren mountains and harsh waters. However, the ancestors of the Miao people were also great. They invented stilted buildings and stilt houses for living on this hillside. Terraced fields for farming.

Take a shot of the distant view of the village

After watching it on the mountain, we took the car down and took a serious stroll around the village.

Taken on the bridge near the station

The stilted buildings on the hillside are all four-story buildings, probably hotels.

Commercial Street. The business atmosphere in Miao Village is quite strong.

Fengyu Bridge is one of the important attractions in Miao Village.

Take a few more photos.

At noon, we found a small shop in a snack street to eat some local snacks. The owner of the shop actually worked in Shenyang, and he was considered a local person who dared to travel around.

When eating, we often see the local long table banquet. I took a photo of it when I was in Dong Village the day before yesterday and posted it here.

At best it sounds like a long table banquet, but it's actually a team meal. A bit of a local twist is that if anyone is unlucky, they'll get drunk and sing.

In the afternoon, I went back to the hotel to take a nap, and then asked the store owner what else I should see. The owner suggested walking along the street up the mountain.

Take pictures casually

The view from this teahouse is perfect

Because the village itself is built on a hillside, it is easy to see the panoramic view.

Centennial Diaojiaolou

We paid ten yuan to enter the Family Museum. This is a real stilted building where a Miao family lives, but there is nothing special inside. It is not much different from the indoor facilities in our rural areas. I specifically asked where the toilet was. It turned out that it was shared by several households. It was located inside an inconspicuous door on the street and was usually locked.

Let’s see what gods the Miao people believe in

This new building is supposed to be a hotel.

We also found a place that is said to be the home of the Miao King, but that place mainly sells medicine. I also bought medicine to treat rhinitis, a powder-like powder for external application. Whether it works or not depends on future experience. .

After reading the inside of the village, I went to the edge of the village to have a look.

Because the lighting of the Miao Village is the highlight at night, we took the car to the viewing platform on the mountain around five o'clock.

The view at dawn was almost the same as in the morning.

Finally it started to get dark

Starry lights began to appear

Wind and Rain Bridge at night.

The sky is getting darker and the lights are getting more and more obvious

The brightest point is the performance stage.

The real effect is after dark, but the guide says that when the lights are turned on at night, the whole village looks like a bull's head. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try to imagine, I can't feel anything like a bull's head.

Unfortunately, it rained heavily at night and we were all soaked. Fortunately, the management of the scenic spot was pretty good. The staff were serious and responsible and arranged for every tourist to go down the mountain safely. However, when we got off the station, the entire village was covered with water, so we had to wade through the water and walk back to the hotel.
