Introduction to Sugar Loaf Mountain: Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar) is located at the entrance of Guanabara Bay (Baia de Guanabara) and is one of the symbols of Rio's hot interior. Sugarloaf Mountain is composed of two hills, one like a standing loaf and the other like a flat loaf. The surface of the mountain is smooth, as if it has been smeared with chaff, hence the name. Sugar Loaf Mountain is 394 meters high. Visitors can take a cable car to the top after a transfer to get a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro.
