Introduction to the main courtyard: The 1906 San Francisco earthquake destroyed many of Stanford University’s earliest buildings. After the 1989 earthquake caused further damage to the school, Stanford began spending hundreds of millions of dollars to renovate and renovate the school buildings. The overall layout of the buildings on the old campus is a square courtyard. The main quadrangle has yellow bricks and red tiles, all of which are Spanish-style buildings from the 17th century. Although it is not big, the simplicity and elegance of the building left a deep impression on me. The surrounding walls of these buildings are made of gray-yellow imitation stones, which are very unique. Walking inside, you will see a magnificent cathedral located in the center of the main quadrangle, facing the main gate of the quadrangle.
