Introduction to the Porch of Octavia: The Porch of Octavia (Portico d’Ottavia) was built by the Roman Emperor Augustus in 27 BC and was later burned in the park in 80 AD. The rebuilt building was burned again in 203 AD and is now an abandoned ruin.
