Introduction to Trajan's Column: Trajan's Column (Colonna Traiana) was erected for the Roman Emperor Trajan to commemorate Trajan's victory in conquering Dacia. The column was built by the Damascus architect Apollodorus of Damascus and completed in 113. It has a total height of 38 meters including the base and is famous for the exquisite reliefs on the column.
