Introduction to the Royal Avenue: There is a wide lawn in the middle of the Royal Avenue, so the Royal Avenue is also called the "green carpet". It is 335 meters long and 40 meters wide. It had already taken shape during the reign of Louis XIII, but Le Nôtre widened it and embellished it with 12 symmetrical pairs of sculptures and 12 vases. Most of the sculptures and vases were sent by students of the French Academy in Rome in the 17th century. There are some paths on both sides of the avenue leading to the jungle garden, where walkers can explore the path while walking.
