Introduction to the Grand Trianon: The Grand Trianon was built in 1687 by Louis XIV for his mistress Madame Maintenon. It was designed and built by Jules Arduin Mansard. It has only one hall. The exterior is the most elegant and exquisite of all the buildings in the Palace of Versailles, and the interior decoration is relatively simple. During the Louis XIV period, the king sometimes came to live here when he was tired of the luxurious Versailles Palace. From 1805 to 1815, Napoleon often lived here.
