Introduction to the Oberbaum Bridge: The Oberbaum Bridge (Oberbaumbrücke) is a double-decker bridge over the Spree River in Berlin. The U1 subway line passes over the bridge. The bridge is built in the North German Gothic brick architectural style and uses decorative elements such as pointed arches, cross arches, and coats of arms. It is one of Berlin's landmarks. It connects the two districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, which were divided by the Berlin Wall in the past. It was reopened to traffic in 1994.
