Introduction to Windsor Castle: Windsor Castle is the largest castle still inhabited in Britain. In 1070, William the Conqueror chose this higher-lying location in order to consolidate the defense west of London and built an earthen fortress as the main material. After continuous renovation by later kings Henry II and Edward III, the castle became more and more solid, and gradually became a royal castle showing the authority of the British royal family. We know that at the beginning of the 19th century, George IV's large-scale renovation basically completed the current scale. Now that you approach this ancient medieval building, the medieval flavor will be revealed inadvertently because of its dense yellow color in the sun.
