Introduction to Nonnberg Abbey: Abtei Nonnberg (Abtei Nonnberg, also translated as Nonnberg Nunnery) is located on the east side of the Salzburg Fortress in Salzburg, Austria. This is a monastery founded by Rupert Founded in 714 AD, the Benedictine monastery is also the oldest women's monastery in the German-speaking world. Sister St. Helen Teresa became the first abbess of the monastery at that time.
Maria taught at the convent's school when she was a nun, and the convent gained international fame following the filming of the film "The Sound of Music."
