Introduction to the Market Square: The Market Square (Rynok Square) appeared in the second half of the 14th century and has a history of more than 600 years. In the center of the square is the City Hall, surrounded by many distinctive classical buildings; in the northeast is the Drug Museum. Today, although there is no market here, it is a popular starting point for tourists to explore Lviv’s Old Town. In the summer, there are often outdoor cafes and female candy vendors wearing traditional ethnic costumes from the 19th century.
