Introduction to Rundale Palace: Rundale Palace (Rundāles pils in Latvian) is an exquisite Baroque palace in the 18th century. It was originally the home of Duke Ernst, the ruler of the Courland region. Summer residence of Johann Biron (1736-1740). After Tsarist Russia annexed the place in 1795, Catherine II gave it to her lover Prince Zubov.
