Introduction to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was built on the eve of Victory Day in 1967. It is a tombstone built to commemorate the soldiers who died in the Russian Patriotic War. The tombstone is engraved with: "No one knows your name, but your achievements will last forever." On the dark red marble mausoleum facing north and running east-west, there is a bronze sculpture of a helmet and a military flag on the west side. The shape is simple and bright, and the meaning is solemn and profound. There is a convex five-star torch in front of the tomb. The flame spurting out from the center of the five stars has been burning from the time it was built to the present and has never been extinguished. It symbolizes that the spirit of the martyrs will always illuminate the world.
During the Great Patriotic War, more than 27 million Soviet civilians and more than 8 million soldiers died for the country. On May 8, 1945, the Soviet army captured Berlin and Nazi Germany announced its unconditional surrender. Later, May 8 was designated as Victory in Europe Day, and May 9 was designated as Russia's "Victory in the Patriotic War Day", and has become one of the most important holidays in Russia.
