Introduction to Coit Bronze Statue: Lillie H. Coit was a female firefighter. After her death in 1929, she donated all her property. In view of her great love for the fire department during her lifetime, the city government used part of the inheritance to build a high tower on the hill in the shape of a fire hydrant and named after Coit to keep her love in San Francisco forever.
