Introduction to childhood home: Andersen’s childhood home (HC Andersens Barndomshjem) is located at 3 Monchimole Street. This is a secluded and narrow street. On the north side of the street intersection is a row of dilapidated red bungalows.
There are two rooms in the former residence, and two families lived there in the past: the west room was occupied by a hat maker's family; the east room, with an area of ​​about 15 square meters, housed Andersen's parents and 6 children, and was also used as Andersen's father's shoemaking workshop. , Andersen spent his childhood here from the age of 2 to 14.
At the intersection of Hans Janssen Street and Bans Boda Street, there are several low, half-timbered houses. One of them in the corner is marked: "Andersen was born here in 1805."
