There are two rooms in the former residence, and two families lived there in the past: the west room was occupied by a hat maker's family; the east room, with an area of about 15 square meters, housed Andersen's parents and 6 children, and was also used as Andersen's father's shoemaking workshop. , Andersen spent his childhood here from the age of 2 to 14.
At the intersection of Hans Janssen Street and Bans Boda Street, there are several low, half-timbered houses. One of them in the corner is marked: "Andersen was born here in 1805."
