Introduction to sky lanterns at night: Bodhidharma, the 28th generation disciple of Sakyamuni, came to China from India to spread the Zen method during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. According to legend, he once "sited and meditated facing the wall" in a cave on the east bank of Tianchi. This cave was later called "Dharma Zen Cave". In order to commemorate the Zen method he taught, people set up a pine pole on a mountain opposite the "Dharma Zen Cave" and hung a "sky lantern" on it. Zen Deng Mountain got its name from this, also known as "Deng Pole Mountain".
