Introduction to the Purple Bamboo Forest: The Purple Bamboo Forest is located at the foot of Meitan Ridge in the southeast of Putuo Mountain. The rocks in the mountain are purple-red in color, and cypress leaves and bamboo leaf-like patterns can be seen in the cross-section, so it is called purple bamboo stone. Later generations also planted purple bamboo here. During the Five Dynasties, the monk Hui'e brought the Guanyin statue from Wutai Mountain. On his way back home, it was blocked by the wind, so he built the "Reluctant to Go Guanyin Temple" in the purple bamboo forest.
