Introduction to the former residence of Liu Yongfu: The former residence of Liu Yongfu is located in Bangui Street, Qinzhou City. It was formerly known as Sanxuantang and covers an area of 22,700 square meters. It is an ancient building complex with the characteristics of a military camp. It is not only a patriotic education base, It also has high artistic value.
Sanxuantang has a construction area of 5622.5 square meters, with 119 large and small halls and rooms. It uses exquisite materials, dignified and simple shape, large scale and unique layout. The main house is divided into three parts and faces south. It has Chinese-style cylindrical tile eaves and is surrounded by high walls and towers. There is a square screen wall in front of the main house and is surrounded by flowers, plants and trees. It is an extraordinary, magnificent, typical and simple building.
Liu Yongfu (1837-1917), courtesy name Yuanting, was born in Shangsi, Guangxi and was a hired worker. In 1857, under the influence of the Taiping Revolution, he joined the Tiandihui uprising. In 1864, the Black Flag Army was organized in Ande, Guishun Prefecture (now Jingxi). During the Sino-French War, he led the Black Flag Army to fight against the French invaders and successively achieved great victories at Luochi and Zhiqiao. He also resisted orders to protect Taiwan and attacked the Japanese invaders. He was a famous patriotic soldier.
