Introduction to the streets of the ancient town: Huangyao was famous for its business in the past, and most of the old houses along both sides of the street were former shops. There is still a round hole in the old wooden windows of those former shops, which was the passage for "paying money and delivering goods with one hand" when closing at night. In every street and alley in the ancient town, you can always see a row of small holes the size of bowls on the bluestone slabs. It is said that they were used to place gates to defend against foreign enemies.
