Architectural introduction: Geyuan is the private garden of the Huang family, a Yangzhou salt merchant in the Qing Dynasty. It is an accessory building to the entire Huang family's residence. The house was originally divided into three roads, each with three entrances, with similar structures but different functions. The first entrance of the disappeared building on East Road was the office of the steward and accountant; the second entrance was the residence of the steward, accountant and other senior servants, which also served as a warehouse; and the third entrance was where the kitchen was located. The building in the middle road has three entrances. The first thing you enter is the main hall, which was where the owner received guests. Secondly, enter the patio and hall. This hall is also a two-story hall. Famous flowers, rare birds, antiques, calligraphy and paintings can be seen at a glance to show the owner's life interest and cultural accomplishment. It can be used for guests to stay temporarily. The West Road building is also divided into three entrances. It is the place where the owner and his family died, so it is the most magnificent. When you first enter the hall, the second hall is commonly known as the Flower Hall, which is a place for grand events. The second and third entrances are both two-story embroidered buildings, but the scenery is different.
