Introduction to studying away from home: In the spring of 1910, Zhou Enlai's uncle Zhou Yigeng was working in Fengtian and served as a member of the Salary Section of the Du Branch. His life was a little more stable, so he asked Zhou Enlai's third cousin Zhou Yiqian, who was also working in the Northeast, to return to his hometown to visit. When he returned home, he brought Zhou Enlai to Fengtian to live with him. While in Northeast China, Zhou Enlai studied at Yinzhou Yingang Academy in Fengtian Province (in today's Tieling City) and Fengtian Dongguan Model School (in today's Shenyang City). In the spring of 1913, Zhou Enlai went to Tianjin and was admitted to Tianjin Nankai Middle School in August. In September 1917, he traveled east to Japan to study.
