Introduction to the Geneva Conference: From April 26 to July 21, 1954, the Soviet Union, the United States, Britain, France, and China held an international conference at the League of Nations Building in Geneva, Switzerland. The two topics were the peaceful settlement of the Korean issue and the restoration of Peace problem in Indochina. Zhou Enlai led the Chinese government delegation to Switzerland to attend the Geneva Conference. This is the first important international conference that New China has participated in as one of the five major countries, and it is also the first time that the leaders of New China have officially appeared on the international stage.
