Introduction to Gao Qifeng's Tomb: Gao Qifeng (1889-1933), a native of Panyu, Guangdong, was one of the founders of the Lingnan School. His paintings "have a romantic poetic charm and express an elegant and comfortable charm." At the 1931 International Art Exhibition in Belgium, Mr. Gao Qifeng represented China at the exhibition and was awarded the Best Prize, earning him an international reputation. He died of illness in Shanghai in November 1933 and was buried next to the Peach Blossom Stream in Qixia Mountain, Nanjing in December 1936. He was the first painter to be given a state funeral since ancient times.
