Introduction to the Great Temple: The former site of the Great Temple is at the present Yuantong Palace. It was originally called the Sangha Hall. It was built by Wang Gang and Seng Deqing from thousands of families in the 18th year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1482 AD). It was built twice during the Jiajing and Wanli years. After renovation, it was changed to its current name. The main hall is dedicated to the great sage Bodhisattva. His statue is wearing a dragon robe and a Viluda hat. He serves his disciple Hui'an on the right and his disciple Mucha on the left. On both sides of the hall, there are sculptures of "Twenty Heavens" and "Gong Zhao" on his forehead.
