Introduction to He Rong: He Rong is a commemorative sculpture of the 9th Asian Art Festival. It is shaped from an ancient Chinese jade pendant. The center is a blooming lotus shape, which means "harmony and happiness"; the lotus is surrounded by decorations with Chinese characters. The dance, calligraphy and other elements of the three countries, Japan and South Korea, imply the mutual integration and harmonious symbiosis of the cultures and arts of the three countries; the nine wave-like shapes on the top and bottom not only take the meaning of this Asian Art Festival as the ninth, but also symbolize China and Japan. China, Korea and South Korea are separated by a narrow strip of water and enjoy a long history of cultural and artistic exchanges.
