Introduction to the Poseidon Sculpture: In the middle of the square there is a statue of Neptune from the Greek mythology, a work by the famous Swedish sculptor Carl Milles. The statue was built in 1931. It adopts the typical image of a tall and stout Nordic man. He holds a fish in his left hand and a shell in his right hand. It is lifelike and is one of the symbols of the city of Gothenburg.
