Introduction to ancient kilns: Most of the ancient kiln ruins in Wuxi are located on the east bank of the ancient canal. There were more than 100 brick kilns originally, but now 42 remain, 19 of which are relatively complete. The history of building kilns and firing bricks can be traced back to the early Ming Dynasty. At that time, Wuxi was an important town in the kiln industry in the south of the Yangtze River. There is a popular saying that "a city can flourish within ten miles of the pond, and a kiln can be fired within ten miles of the pond."
