Introduction to Morrison Church: Morrison Church is the first Christian missionary in Macau. It is a Roman-style building built of stone, also known as the "Morrison Chapel". The doors and windows of the church are unique arches. The picture window is engraved with the image of a Bible and the words written on it. A distinctive small round lamp is lit in front of the church door. There are only ten benches in the church. The top of the church maintains the ancient roof beams and The rafters and two long ceiling fans are placed on both sides of the altar to commemorate James Antig and Henry Machichen.
Morrison was the first Protestant missionary to China and the first person to translate the Bible into Chinese. He also compiled the "Chinese-English Dictionary" and founded the famous Yinghua College. Published the first Chinese newspaper "Cha Shi Shi Monthly Tong Ji Zhuan".
Morrison had worked in Macau for a long time and had served in the British East India Company for 25 years. He was very influential in China and Southeast Asia. He was buried in the cemetery next to the church after his death.
