Introduction to the Civil Affairs Bureau Building: The Civil Affairs Bureau Building was built in 1584. It was the place where government orders were read out in the Ming Dynasty and where Chinese and Portuguese officials met. In 1784, the Portuguese purchased the land outside the building and built it into a two-story Baroque building, which became the Council Building for the Portuguese to implement self-government and work in Macau at that time.
