Introduction to Fahuayuan: Fahuayuan is one of the largest and earliest Buddhist temples in the Jiaodong Peninsula, and is currently the only Buddhist temple in Weihai City. It was built in 824 AD by Zhang Baogao, a native of Silla. It got its name because the first batch of monks invited to chant sutras when the academy was built belonged to the Tiantai sect and chanted the Lotus Sutra.
