Introduction to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal: The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal was known as "Hangou" or "Canal" in ancient times. It is the longest, largest and oldest canal in the world. Together with the Great Wall, it is known as two great projects in ancient China. A section of the canal from Hanzhuang Town, Hukou, Weishan Lake, via Taierzhuang to Pizhou, Jiangsu Province, has now reached a secondary waterway and belongs to the Huxi route.
