Introduction to the buildings during the British Lease Period: The official buildings on Liugong Island during the British Lease Period embody the characteristics of the most common European-style buildings in terms of appearance and structure; however, in some parts of the design, they drew on Weihai folk houses. Features such as high eaves green tiles, angled ridge roofs, carved birds and animals on the eaves, Chinese-style lattice on the skylights, and square chimneys on the sloped roofs and other architectural elements with strong Chinese characteristics reflect the British colonial rule of Liugong Island.
