It is said that during the Warring States Period, Yang Jiaoai and Zuo Botao, both from the Yan State, went to the Chu State to seek employment. When they arrived at Eyi, they suddenly encountered rain and snow. They were running out of money and there was only enough money for one person to survive. Zuo Botao gave food and silver to Yang Jiaoai. Let him go to Chu State and stay here to wait. Yang went to Chu State and became a high-ranking official, and then went to Eyi to look for Zuo Botao, but Zuo had died of cold and starvation in a tree hole. Yang then drew his sword and killed himself, and buried Yang and Zuo together in the same tomb. The story of Yangzuo Quanjiao has been widely circulated among the people for thousands of years.
