Introduction to Jadeite Cabbage: Jadeite Cabbage was originally displayed in the Yonghe Palace in Beijing where Concubine Sumo Jin lived. It was skillfully carved by Qing Dynasty artists using a piece of gray jade that was half gray and half emerald green. The green parts were carved into leaves. The white vegetable leaves are naturally rolled up and have distinct veins, and two small red katydids are climbing on them.
