Introduction to the Royal Army Museum: The Royal Army Museum (Legermuseum) is surrounded by water. It was built in 1913 and opened to the public in 1986. The museum was originally a medical center and weapons warehouse, and was later converted into a museum for tourists to visit. The museum collects a total of 200,000 exhibits, showing the history and achievements of the Royal Netherlands Army in great detail. The museum closed in January 2013 and a new museum will be established jointly with the Air Force in 2014.
