Introduction to Zishengyuan: Zishengyuan is a Buddhist temple that was first built in the Tang Dynasty. During the Song Dynasty, Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty passed by this place on his way to Fengchan Zen on Mount Tai, and named Niushan the lush mountain. It was built or rebuilt in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, making it the largest temple in Niushan. The original building had the "Tianwang Hall", "Buddha Hall", "Mainxiong Hall" and a four-column pavilion-style bell tower along a central axis. The back hall was originally dedicated to Buddha. After reconstruction in the seventh year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty, it was changed to be dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. The entire Zishengyuan building was demolished in the 1970s, and now only 14 thousand-year-old trees and several broken steles remain.
