Introduction to the ancient bridge: The Mostar Ancient Bridge (Stari most) on the Neretva River was built in 1566. It was arched, 4 meters wide and 29 meters long. It was later destroyed in 1993. The current ancient bridge was rebuilt and restored after the war. Some of the stone materials that were sunk into the river were used. Others were sourced from local materials. The materials and effects are basically the same as the original condition of the old bridge.
